Corina Dunlap ND, MS - How Hormonal Health Intersects with the Gut (1 General CE Credit)
2022 Thaena Microbiome Symposium - The Rise of Postbiotics: The Roles they Play in in immunology and women's health.
DESCRIPTION
There is an important intersection between the gut microbiome and hormonal health. Why do some women feel bloated or have abnormal bowel activity with fluctuations in their menstrual cycle, but support the gut flora and these symptoms resolve? What about PMS, PCOS, endometriosis, and ovulatory dysfunction all coinciding with gastrointestinal health? What intersections are being explored in the world of fertility and the microbiome? In the past decade, there have been huge advancements in the research on this topic. This presentation will attempt to connect some of these dots in order to shed light on how this intersection may impact our approach to case management.
